This site is not just galleries of my photographic work - although that is probably why most people are here. Edinburgh is my home town, and its coast inspires me to shoot lots n’ lots of photographs of the big skies that I love. My time in Italy was inspirational, the months in Tuscany in and around the ancient town of Lucca left me with a mountain of photographs and memories. I even have photos of my visits to Berlin where I first came across the monumental Soviet architecture of Treptow park.
But.
There are also words here, in time there will be tutorials, my thoughts on where all this photography malarkey is going, and even rants about my adventures - like forgetting to charge my batteries before going off on a London jaunt (thank god for camera phones!). So keep your eyes peeled and come back again!
Ok, so this is not photography related in any way but hey, it is fun and I’ve always wondered what I’d look like if I was in South Park. I need not wonder any more for the great people at Planearium have allowed me to see myself in South Park land!
Sunday was pretty dark and driech, not much fun for a stroll along the beach but perfect weather to capture some stunning photographs of the coastline. From the grain silo of Chancelot Mill, through Leith docks, along the promenade of Portobello and eventually to the little harbour of Musselburgh before the darkness and rain pushed me back homewards. Was it worth it? I think so.
Fast on the heels of the site going live is my first new gallery, shots from by brief excursion to Iona. There are more images to come from this wonderful, magical place but I had to put some up to let you see. Stay tuned!
Welcome to the new improved Karpaty Kollective site, the new home for my photography. Over the coming months I will be adding a wealth of new content from Edinburgh Festival shows to the beautiful and dramatic scenery of Mull and Iona.
I’d especially like to thank Abel Rogers and David Ross for the amazing job they have done in turning my dreams (and hopes) for my new site into reality.
Stef.
