Stage Two in the site's evolution

This is not an archive of photos, well not as such. It does have photographs to see that are not on this site but rather it is an archive of the older versions of this site. This is V3.0 of the Karpaty Kollective site - cleaner, leaner, and more content than ever before but it didn't just arive fully formed. Like the man himself it grew and developed, made some mistakes along the way and learned from them.

But why? You may well ask and the reason is simple. These sites are snapshots in time in effect like a photograph, not just of the images included on those sites but rather of the web itself and my development within it.

The earliest version was created in the 90's as part of a Masters Degree and shows lots of my older work, from the fall of the Berlin Wall and Kylie Minogue to my first stumbling steps with Photoshop.

Version two had a long birth, the concept mulled in my head for almost a year before it saw the light of day. It was created during the long winter nights of 2002 in the wooded hills above the Tuscan town of Lucca. It was smaller, simpler and designed as a quick showcase that reflected the moody, brooding landscapes that reflected my work at the time.

I still love these photographs, these slivers of time hermetically sealed and presented for posterity. That's why I have put both these earlier versions of this site up for you to have a look at. Enjoy.
